Nezu Shrine is an ancient shrine founded over 1,900 years ago. The current shrine building was built in 1706 by the fifth shogun, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, and the seven buildings, including the shrine building, are designated as important cultural properties. In spring, 3,000 azaleas of 100 varieties welcome you with their seasonal expressions, and in autumn, autumn leaves. Five deities are enshrined, and the benefits are boundless, including protection from disasters, the fulfillment of wishes, and business prosperity. When visiting, please pay your respects to Shinto, the foundation of Japanese culture and customs, purify your hands, and pray to the gods with the etiquette of two bows, two claps, and one bow. Amulets and fortune-telling slips are available at the gift shop. Amulets that contain the spirit of the deity will protect you from disasters and lead you to the fulfillment of your wishes.
